Manoj Bajpayee is all ready to bring a slice of Mumbai’s past to life in his upcoming film ‘Inspector Zende’. The movie, which also stars Jim Sarbh, is a thrilling crime drama set in the 1970s and 80s.

In the film, Manoj steps into the shoes of Inspector Madhukar Zende, a determined police officer on a mission to capture the infamous “Swimsuit Killer,” a charming but dangerous criminal who escapes from Tihar Jail.

The role of this smooth-talking outlaw, Carl Bhojraj, will be played by Jim Sarbh. The story is loosely inspired by real events and promises an intense game of cat and mouse, filled with grit, determination, and unexpected twists.

Written and directed by Chinmay D. Mandlekar, ‘Inspector Zende’ is produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut. The cast also includes Bhalchandra Kadam, Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak, and Harish Dudhade in important roles. On Thursday, Netflix unveiled the official poster of the film on its Instagram page, sparking curiosity among viewers.

For producer Om Raut, the project holds a personal connection. “Inspector Zende’s story is one that deserves to be seen, remembered, and celebrated. It’s not just a thrilling chase, but also an inspiring one. Most importantly, it was my father’s dream to make a film on Inspector Zende. Bringing this story to life with Netflix has been an incredible journey,” he shared in a statement.

Jay Shewakramani echoed the excitement, highlighting Netflix’s role in making the film a global offering. “Netflix’s commitment to unique, authentic stories and their reach across the world make them the perfect partner for this project. We can’t wait for people to meet Inspector Zende, an unlikely hero with an unforgettable story.”

The film is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 5.

Meanwhile, Manoj Bajpayee’s fans also have another reason to celebrate. His much-loved series ‘The Family Man’ is returning for a third season. Prime Video recently dropped a teaser introducing Jaideep Ahlawat as the new antagonist. The show will see familiar faces return, including Priyamani as Suchitra Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi as JK Talpade, Ashlesha Thakur as Dhriti Tiwari, and Vedant Sinha as Atharv Tiwari.
